Revalidation Requirements
0A JAR-FCL PPL is valid for five years and can be renewed by applying to the CAA and paying a fee. The revalidation period for the licence covers a 24 month period and stipulates that:
1. The Pilot should fly at least 12 hours in the preceding 12 months prior to revalidation of which 6 hours must be PIC (Pilot in Command) within 12 months prior to revalidation.
2. The Pilot must have flown at least 1 hour with an FI (Flying Instructor) within 12 months.
3. The Pilot must have carried out 12 take-off and landings within 12 months.
4. The Pilot can choose to take a Skills Test with an Examiner instead of points 1, 2 and 3.
Furthermore, in order to carry passengers the Pilot must have completed at least 3 take-off and landings in the previous 90 days while flying solo.
